Curiosity Is My Muse

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Muse.”

Spiny Oakworm Moth

This Spiny Oakworm Moth paid a visit yesterday, affixing itself to a window in the den for the entire day.  It was begging for inspection, a Muse calling to me with it’s natural beauty and stillness.  It stayed until after dark, offering plenty of time for curiosity.

It’s demeanor was uninterrupted by birds sweeping by in their own hungry curiosity; never quite figuring out if their reflections in the window were competitors for dinner.  Defeated, they always flew away.

In the end it did get captured, but just it’s image; reflecting the lens of my camera. Muse and observer together in that snapshot of time.
