This is the time of year that has me missing all of the important people in my life who are now with me in spirit only. It doesn’t make me sad, it reminds me to celebrate life and all of the happy moments in it.
To me, making something so elemental as food and sharing it with those I love is a gift I am thankful to be able to provide.

Blue Cranberry Hand Pies
Fill with Blue Cranberry Jam, adding 1 tablespoon of maple syrup for each cup of jam used
Seal edges with beaten egg
Crimp with fork or roll
Brush top with beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar
Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes, or until pastry is baked and edges are light golden brown
Don’t stress if your filling leaks
