Whole (Wheat) Hearted ~ Chocolate Chip Cinnamon Roll


Sick kids in the house this week. Time for some serious comfort food. I was already baking bread and used half of my prepared dough to make one heart shaped cinnamon roll loaf instead of individual rolls. I used the method I outlined here: Light Honey Wheat Overnight Cinnamon Rolls

Add a couple of small handfuls of semi sweet chocolate chips to the inside cinnamon mixture before you roll it up. Then, instead of cutting into rolls, stretch the loaf out a little and shape it in a circle. Then bring the top down and push the bottom into a “v” to make a heart.

Slash the top about halfway through the dough every two to three inches around. Let rise about 40 minutes, then bake in the oven (preheated to 375 degrees Fahrenheit) for 15 to 20 minutes. Glaze immediately after removing from the oven.

Served warm it will warm hearts!
